Angel's Landing!

Last Saturday, a group of us decided to take advantage of this warm weather and head up to Zion's National Park and go hike Angel's Landing. I hadn't ever done it before, and I can honestly say that I had a blast!! It was a definite work-out, but I had great company and got to see the the beauty our world has to give!!! The hike took us about 3 hours.. I LOVED IT! there are some of the sites that we saw, just wait, this will make you want to hike it just for the view at the top!

Dad-I thought of you the whole time I was laying right there int he last pic! :)

While we were on the hike, Me, Kim and Haley were all talking about the different things we want to do before the semester is over! So we drove down to St. George and hiked the "DIXIE ROCK" and went to "spoon me" for a treat. After that, we made a last stop at bonfire our neighbor was throwing.. what a day!!!!!!

*************************************************************************************

I went on a double date Friday night, my date wouldn't tell me where we were going and I was the only one who didn't know.. it was driving me nuts the whole time!! Once we passed St. George I thought for sure these guys were crazy and when we showed up in Mesquite I found out that they really are crazy! haha we me the 4th party of our date down there and went to dinner and had a good time :)

I had a blast! I mean how many ppl can say they drove all the way to Mesquite and back on one date huh? haha

hmmmmm... :)

so I think that I have finally mastered my mom's homemade Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies!! :) we haven't had them for a while here in our apartment and oh boy.. this time we couldn't stop eating them. Amanda and I ended up taking them from apartment to apartment giving them away. Our neighbors didn't mind taking them one bit. :) Now, I won't be able to eat all week because I ate so many just Saturday and Sunday! but oh were they worth it!!!!!

Life has been grrreat! The semester is almost over. 2 weeks until finals! can ya believe it?! Guess I better get going on my studying! cross your fingers, toes, legs, arms and eyes for me!!!! I'm going to need it!

What to do....??

Life just keeps going doesn't it? seems like it goes by faster and faster these days. It's almost March! which means only a month and 1/2 left living in Cedar. Which makes me sad. Just the thought of not being with my roommates every day! Although, I am ready to get a job and start working..put some money back in the bank :)

So many decisions to be made soon. Where to go to school next year, where to live, what I want to go into, where I want to work for the summer, etc. Sometimes I wish we had a magic ball like the ones that tell you what to do.. yeah. I need one of those right now...

Happy 6 months!!!

I have officially been living in Cedar City for 6 months now.. I can hardly believe it! time is going by waaaayyy too fast! Midterm is this coming Friday! ah!

so.. here we go:

SCHOOL-
my classes are a lot of interesting then last semester! My favorite class right now is my Anatomy Lab/Lecture. We have already learned the Tissues, Axial/Appendicular Skeleton, and now we are learning the muscles.. in lab we get to see the cadavars. It's so cool to be able to see how the human body actually looks! Although, I have been more hesitant to touching the cadavars then I had expected... I hope that's alright for a future nurse!

CHURCH-
My calling has been keeping me busy. I have really enjoyed being part of the Relief Society presidency. I makes me get out and get to know people better. I now look at the girls in my ward, and realize how I am lucky to have met them. I truely am so grateful for all the people who have come into my life here in Cedar City.

ROOMMIES!!-
OH HOW I LOVE THEM!!!!! Amanda and I figures out that we have known each other for just 6 months now, and how crazy that is. I feel like I have known them forever!

Over the weekend:

Friday night was the Institute HERO dance! yahooo! we're always up for a dance! Such a good time!

Saturday night we went bowling with Denton, his brother, "Chocolate boy". I came pretty close to winning.. but Duke beat me.. I guess that's alright. :) The 2nd game that we bowled we tried to bowl anyway that we wouldn't normally.. let's just say we got creative! It was definitely a good time :)

Sunday.. today. I spoke in Sacrement meeting. My topic was "Music and Dancing" I feel good about it. We have a "cookie and milk" party at the end of Relief Society for our months survice! 11th ward rocks! :D

last week, I went snowboarding with Royce and a friend of his from Nephi. The snow wasn't that great, but we made up for it. Went on the back country and found some untouched snow! I led the way.. and let's just say I wasn't paying attention to where I was leading because I led us about 2 miles off of the resort.. SORRY GUYS!!! made for a good story after the hike back was over :)

oh..I can't leave this out.. Guess who beat Royce down the mountain on the last run.. yup, that would be me! :)

It's already January.. and I've been horrible at blogging.
So much has happened since November that I can't put it all in.

Christmas was great, spent 3 weeks at home with family and friends :)
Honestly, it made it hard to come back to Cedar. It was great to see my roommates again! how I missed seeing the every day!

Now, 3 weeks into my 2nd semester of college at SUU. This semester I am taking classes that I enjoy a lot more. like; Human Development, Human Anatomy w/ a lab, math, Institute. I've got a good schedule. I have to do better with my grades this semester.. I've already started off on the right foot. Studying every day for a few hours.. they make for kinda long days, but it's worth it.

Cedar City is great, we've calmed down a bit but don't worry, we're still crazy. The boys next door in Apartment 19 have their weekly tradition of having "Robes and Hot Chocolate" every Sunday night after ward prayer.. Bishop came last week. haha that was a shock to see him in a robe sitting on the couch! I'm excited for this sunday coming up. We went down to St. George this weekend and bought 3 dollar robes.. I'm excited!

I've been keeping busy with school and my church calling. The Relief Society Presidencies are in charge of making up a rap about their Bishop and performing at the stake enrichment next month. haha ours will be the best. :)
Funny story- Me and Kim went around delivering announcements to the girls who don't live in Stadium Way. Well.. we drove by Bishop's house and decided to door bell ditch him.. haha oh the things you come up with in Cedar City!

Last night, Kim and Royce made a beaver hat.. disgusting. I know. But I was impressed by KimDuke's sewing skills. They made it out of the beaver fur from the beaver that Roy had trapped, skinned, and tanned himself. He convinced me to put it on my head just to take a picture. It was killing me to know that I had a dead animal on my head!!! ahhhh!!! haha the hat is legit though, props to Kimduke and roy!

I've been missing home lately. I don't know why. But I have been missing being with my family and actually living at home. It'll be nice to move home for the summer. I don't know what I'll do with school next year. Maybe transfer to UVU, maybe come back here. We'll just have to see...

and last but not least, How can I not write about this? My friend Jake gets home from his mission in 19 days! yes, that's right 19.. I couldn't be more excited :D

Let's start with the most recent happenings.
Today in class, I was told that I look like Snow White.. I wasn't sure waht to say to this. The lady explain.. " it's because of your dark hair and really really white skin.." haha "thanks youuuuuuuuu!!!!" good thing I'm heading to California next week.. apparently I need some sun :D

We are feeling the Christmas spirit around here.. yes, we've got our tree up. And it is the cutest little tree that any college apartment has ever had I believe :D
that's how we do in Apt. 18..

There have been a few birthdays over the past little while. Dallin-the big 24 and Zac-the even bigger 25. yes, i know.. they're old. Last Friday, we went bowling with a big group. I bowled the best game of my life so far... a 127. Better believe it!

2 weekends ago, I went home with Kim to Vegas! roadtrip! so much fun. Loved every second of it! Kim's headlight was out, so we tried to leave early enough so that we wouldn't be driving in the dark. Didn't quite make it. We almost got all the way and about 45 minutes away, we got pulled over. Luckily, the cop didn't say anything about how fast we were going :D

Once we got to Vegas, we dropped out stuff off at Duke's.. (she's got palm trees in her front yard!!!) we went down to the Strip. Kim was determined to show me "a night on the town"

we woke up early saturday morning. 530am! Went to the temple to do baptisms. I hadn't ever been to that temple before.

One morning we woke up to 5" of snow on our cars! I was so excited!! woot! can't wait for boarding season to start! AFter school, Kim and I put on our snow clothes and went out to make snow balls. Good thing Kim has everything.. even a legit snowball maker! Ryno and Dallin came to join us, pretty soon we were throwing snowballs at all the neighbors.. Love the snow!! :D

JENICA SUE!!! :) I was so excited to have her come stay with me Halloween weekend! :D It was a crazy fun filled weekend!.. we played a bunch of games with everyone in the club house Friday, watched a movie in our apt. I think that we had about 15 ppl all squished together in our living room watching MADAGASCAR.

Saturday, we hung out all day, slept in.. alwasys feels good :) then later that night, we went to Applebees with the apt. 19 boys. Since it was Halloween, they felt like they needed to scare us. So they took us to the "Sheep Tunnels".. not going to lie, they got me pretty good a few times.

that sunday, I taught the Relief Society lesson on "Hope, Joy and Perseverence" I think it went alright. There were a lot of quotes, but I feel like it went alright. Feels good to check that one off for the rest of the year!

10-29-09
WARD HALLOWEEN PARTY!!

so much fun! me and my roomies were all Conversation Hearts. Our costumes were a hit. They turned out really good.. thanks to the one and only-Kimduke! what would we do without her? At the party there was a dance and Kareoke.. you better believe we sang and danced!

This is Brent... it's a must that we get a picture of the tallest guy and shortest girl in the ward..

The boys from apt.19 won the costume contest.. they deserved it.

it's now been about a month ago, we carved pumpkins.. they looked pretty sweet all lit up. that weekend, Zac thought it would be funny to throw them all down our stairs.. we got "PUMKIN'D".. after all of them had gone to sleep, we went and got the pumkins out of the dumpster and threw them down their stairway.. it was great hearing their reaction the next morning before church :D

update on life..

K.. so, I have a lot to talk about..

Couple weekend's ago, my little sister came down to stay a couple night with me here in Cedar :) 13 year old livin' the college life for a few days.haha.. only downside to her was my food.. you should have seen her sad little face when she only saw Apples and oatmeal in my cuboard. haha

saturday! Amanda and Kim went home with me!! lucky them to see good ol' AF!! :) we left saturday after being pampered all day from Amanda at her hair school.. that night we went to the SCREAM ASYLUM! so scarey, but fun. I haven't ever been one to really like scarey things like this, but going with the girls made it worth it.

School is good.. I really like it a lot down here in Cedar. I have noticed that college is a whole different ball game then high school.. I'm doin' alright. could be better, but still goin' haha I have let a couple grades slip and trying to get them back up now! my hardest class right now is Biology. it's kickin' my can.. I'm gonna pass and then I'm done :)

This last weekend, I went home again.. this time I hitched a ride with Kim, Tajia, Tasha and Ryno.. it was nice not to have to drive by myself again. We got home late friday night.

I went to Lu's cheer competition with my mom. Took me back to my little league competition days.. fun times :) Lu's squad took 1st! she did awesome! 6th, 7th and 8th grade CAVEMEN cheer squads took 1st! woot!
I also went to the BYU game with Dad and D. Sad game to go to because we lost to badly and early in the game. But it's always fun to go to a Y game with my dad. Love him!! :D

Sunday, there was a homecoming in my homeward, Sister Whitt is home from Edmonton, Canada. So glad to have her home!!!! :) After church, just hung out with my family, had dinner and left at 530pm.
It was good that I went home. Definitely needed a weekend with my family.. I love them so much and I'm so grateful for all that they do for me! :)

When we got back to Cedar on Sunday.. ran inside to watch the YANKEE game!.. YANKEES are going to the WORLD SERIES!! haha I can only imagine what my house was like when they won haha :)

Monday 10-26. good day! :) school was good, started making costumes for the ward party with Kimduke and Tajia. Ryno and I went to WALMART and decided to carve pumpkins. We have some good looking pumpkins outside out apartment!!!

and now.. Tuesday!! it SNOWED!!!! woot!! I love this time of year! Seeing the snow made me so excited for snowboarding season to come! Royce is already planning on what runs he's going to take me on!.. he said something about double blacks.. haha cross your fingers i don't get hurt! :D

It's been a busy, exciting last couple of weeks! Jenica is coming this weekend for halloween!! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it!! :D
