Shalom everyone! I'm back to blogging... it's been a while, I had to wait for something to write about.. ha sad that it took so long!!! but this is definitely something to write about now... my trip to...
THE HOLY LAND
A few months ago, my grandma and grandpa Durfey had mentioned something about a trip to Israel.. well I this was always somewhere I wanted to go sometime in my life.. I figured in about 40 years I'd make my way there.. then grandma gave me the address to the website, within a week.. I was signed up with them to go on a 8 day LDS tour to the Holy Land! We left SLC on Feb 4th. after 17 hours in the air, awesome airplane food(yuck!), a book, a nap and a few movies..we made it to Tel Aviv, Israel!!! I've got some pics to share of my experience
Qumran- This is were the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. These scrolls were put in massive jars and hidden for centuries in these caves by the Jews. They contain parts of the Old Testament.

Here is Jerusalem!! Isn't it amazing! here in the picture you can see the Dome of the Rock, and the wall to Old Jerusalem.
We spent a couple of days in Jerusalem. Old Jerusalem was probably one of my favorite things we did/saw.
Inside the wall is the "Wailing Wall" where the Jewish go to pray. Seeing these people going to the wall to pray for hours and hours every day.. definitely made me think about how I can be much better about saying my prayers on my knees at my bed morning and night.
We saw the BYU Jerusalem Center-How awesome would it be to go to school there??
The streets are narrow and dirty in Old Jerusalem.... people with their little shops, bread stands, spices, even huka shops.. that's right. :)
Bethleham-Manger
Tradition says that this is where Mary and Joseph laid the baby Jesus the night he was born.
The Garden of Gethsemane
Where Christ was Risen. This was another place where you could really feel of his spirit and know that this is where Christ really rose from the dead and spoke to Mary.
President Kimball came to this spot and stated that this was the actual place.
There is no denying that there is a special spirit here. Just like in the Garden of Gethsemane. We saw where he suffered, and ended with the resurrection.
I am so grateful for this trip and the experiences I had walking the land that Christ walked himself!!!! I'm grateful for his life and that he suffered for me so that I may return to him again. I'm so glad I got to share this with my grandparents, it was definitely a trip that I will never forget.

The Garden of GethsemaneThis was one of the last stops of the trip... and there was something special here.
As soon as we entered into the Garden and talked about what took place here 2 thousand years ago.. I got goosebumps. Right here I knew that Christ had suffered for me and the rest of the world. He bled from every pour and went through the most pain anyone has ever had to go through. Here, he suffered for me...
