Hi!

I'm blogging.. can you believe it? Bare with me, i'm a newbie at this whole thing. We'll see how much I like it. My roommie, Kim Duke talked me into starting my own. Here we go..

Catch up on my life..

Right now, I am 19 years old. Just about a month into my 1st semester of college. I am now living in Cedar City, UT. Attending SUU! go THUNDERBIRDS! I have loved the past month. I am living in Stadium Way Apartments! Apt 18!! I have 4 great roommates! Kim Duke is from Las Vegas, NV!! she's awesome.. I feel like she is the big sister that i never had and that i have known her my whole life instead of only 4 weeks!! next is Michelle Moore, Michelle and I went on a humanitarian trip this last summer together to Mexico and had never met before. we didn't get to know each other much in Mexico and found out that we were assigned to be roommates.. small world, i know!! Amanda Hansen is from Gilbert AZ. She's a hoot. We tend to tease her a lot, but she can handle it :) She has been trying to adapt to the weather here in Utah.. she hasn't had a winter below 50 degrees since she was 8 years old!! We're a little worried that it will be a long winter for her this year!! haha and last but not least, Anneliese Wilson, from Farmington, UT. She's a great girl, she spends more time in her room than the rest of us! we have to get her out of there sometimes and get to to come party in the living room just to catch up on the day :) we have a lot of fun together.

Now being here for a little over a month faces and names are starting to become familiar. i'm beginning to be able to talk to people without introducing myself over and over. It's great!! This is my 1st time away from home! I have missed my bed, shower and definitely my family. I just can't think about the dinners that mom's cooking back home :)

My Birthday was last week, I woke up and the entire apartment was decorated and later that night, we had ppl over for cupcakes and singing... it was a great day. Very different to be away from home, at the end of the day.. I was missing my family and our traditional JCW's dinner on 09-09!! :) Although I did miss the fam.. I was so glad that I had roommates that care! they made it was great birthday! :) yet another 9 to add to the list.. 19 on 09-09-09

My classes are beginning to load on the homework and tests are creeping up. My classes this semester include; Math, Biology, Economic History (ughhhh...), University 1000, Information Literacy, Weight Training, Institute -Book of Mormon! 14 credit hours total. I like all of my classes for the most part. My favorites are probably Biology and Weight Training!

(L to R.. Amanda, Kim, Me, Michelle, Anneliese)

Today (or i guess yesterday) was a regular Thursday. Woke up and went to Institute and Math. Came home, and my apartment was an utter disaster!! I dropped my back pack, and got out the vacuum and starting to pick up. While in the middle of my cleaning I began to realize that i was just like my mother!! haha this made me laugh out loud.. i love my mom :) Anywho, after I had finshed wiping down the counter, putting the dishes away and making sure everything was where it was supposed to be, i felt much better about life :) .. mom you would be proud. Kim Duke and i have been nicknamed by the other 3 girls "the clean freaks" .. lovely. i'm taking that as a compliment!

Tonight the Cedar City University 11th ward took a trip to the St. George Temple to do baptisms for the dead. We left at about 630pm. Stopped and got some milkshakes and ice cream and went to the temple. I hadn't ever been to this temple before. It was amazing. older than Mt. Timpanogos, but still beautiful. That's the thing that I love about going to different temples. Even though they are all different, they are all gorgeous and all are the Lord's house. It was awesome to be able to do baptisms. I miss being able to go whenever I could at home, only about a 6 minute drive from the house. I am not used to having to drive 45 minutes to go to the temple. Definitely made me realize how lucky I am to be blessed with a temple so close to my house.

It's now 2:03 am.. I should get to bed so I can get up in 6 hours! thank heavens for FRIDAYS!!!
