So long teen years!
I said "goodbye" to my teen years and have now entered into the "twenty's" weird!
I had a great birthday! went to lunch with my aunts, mom, sister and grandma..11 of us total. You know when there are going to be that many Durfey girls, it's going to be a good time! Spent the rest of the day with family and friends.
thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday with the phone calls, texts, facebook.. etc! I appreciated it and am so grateful for such awesome ppl in my life! I LOVE YOU ALL!! :)

-Spencer W. Kimball
I love this quote by Spencer W. Kimball... this quote alone is one that inspires me to keep a journal. There are times when I wonder why I keep buying journals to write events of MY life in... I don't feel like I have great and amazing things to fill the pages with, but I can honestly say that keeping a journal has blessed my life. I may not see the purpose of writing now, but maybe one day I will.
A few weeks ago I was cleaning out my closet and I came across all of my past journals. They start the day I was baptized. I spent hours reading through them...remembering past experiences, laughing at how big of a dork I sound in some of them, wanting to rip out some pages, and realizing how much I have grown. ( & still am growing)
After reading through my own journals, I decided I wanted to read through others in my family. We have a binder full of copies of journal entries from my grandparents, great grandparents, great-great.. and on.. I love this binder. I love learning about my ancestors and reading their thoughts. Even though I can't remember meeting them, I have a love and appreciation for them because of these journal entries.
This is what makes me write... and I hope I keep writing throughout my life.

-Lindsey Lu-
My baby sister turned 14 yesterday!! I can't believe it! I love her so much and am so grateful for the bubbly, spunky, optimistic, fun girl that she is! A few things that I L.O.V.E about Lindsey Lu....
* She always is ready to have a good time
* Nobody can "shun" anyone as well as she can
* Her blondeness.. :)
* When she sets her mind to something, she does it 110%
* She's a friend to everyone
* She holds strong to her standards, never waivering
* The whole month of August is to celebrate her birth
* She's always there for me when I need someone to listen, even if she doesn't really care about what I'm telling her, she's there.
* She says "bless me" every time she sneezes
The list is endless! Lu.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I LOVE YOUUUU!!!

G.N.O!!
We have this tradition where every summer all of us go up to Jenica's cabin and spend the night. Eating yummy food, sitting around the campfire, talking about old times, what's happening right now in our lives and of course the anxiously anticipated events that will occur in our future! :) haha
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love these girls.. each one brings their own special "gift" into our circle and it is easily noticed when one is missing. Nights like these really make me realize how much each one means to me and that I would do anything for any of them.. we've been through the highs and lows of growing up and are still great friends! Who could ask for better girlfriends?? I have been extremely blessed!!
We try and get together as much as possible now with everyone moved away, going to school and working.. here are some of the good times we've had this year! I LOVE YOU GIRLS!

The Blonde, Brunette and Red Head
I just spent 4 hot summer days in the city I think of as my 2nd home.. Cedar City! With 2 of my favorite people on the planet! It was a good time staying up late talking, never making it through 30 minutes of a movie without falling asleep, SUBWAY SUBWAY and more SUBWAY! Shopping in St. George, 115 degree weather, going to walmart for one thing at a time, bumpin in the car.. livin' the life!!
A lady came up to us in St. George and referred to us as "the blonde, brunette and red head" She thought it was funny that the 3 of us had such different hair colors. I'm sure that many people have thought this when they see us pass by, but only the true gems will point it out to us in the middle of IN-N-OUT while pointing a finger and laughing as she states the obvious.. I'm so glad we could humor her!
Dont' tell me this doesn't look like a good time! :)

Life of the Unemployed
-Life of the unemployed consists of:
*volunteering to weed the yard
*mow the lawn
*wash all of the vehicles we own
*loads and loads of laundry (and I don't mind folding them, because it will take some time away from being bored)
*Going to the gym in the morning and at night because it's something to do.
* Going all over AF practically shoving resume's at people
*Babysitting on a Friday night- just because I might become 30 dollars richer than I was before.
oh boy.... do I need a job or what?

Goodbye Cedar City.....
The last 8 months have been everything that I had hoped for and loads more! I was blessed to live with some of the best roommates a girl could ever ask for. Not knowing any of them and coming out of the year not wanting to leave them. That's saying something..
Kimberly Suzanne Duke -"Dukie"
I will miss our 2am cereal and long talks. Your dance moves down our hallway, your crumbs and your dripping face. But most I will miss the fact that I won't be living with one of my best friends who was always there when I needed someone to make me smile. Dukie- I love your fione ashhhh!
Amanda Jean Hansen-"Pamela-la-la"
hmm... well you know that I will miss you when I try and start a dance party at my house and all I get are blank stares from my siblings. Oh how I wished you were here! I will miss our deep conversations that go until 3 am, our out-of-control bursts of laughter and our movies we'd fall asleep to every night :) I will miss waiting until the clock hit 5 and knowing that my night would not be boring because you were coming home.. thank you for becoming one of my dearest friends and my (bestie) haha sure love you mand!!!
Michelle Kay Moore - "Shell Shell"
The responsible one.. Shell, I will miss youuu! our P90X AB work-outs, singing to the radio in the car, and making you laugh while leading the ward during the hymns. :) thank you for always being there for me!
It's obvious that these girls have left a lasting impression on me. These are just a few of the people in Cedar that blessed my life.. I can't imaging life if I hadn't moved to Cedar. It's been an unforgettable year... now it's time to turn the page and look to the next chapter :)
It's been good to be home and see my family. Nights like tonight make me realize how lucky I am to have such a close, big family. This summer will be good :) I know it.
Let the job hunt begin... again :)
